Image of the Day- Sunday Morning Coming Down

Last of the series from Sedona in 2012- this is another shot of Oak Creek but from the other direction. I heard this song back in 1976 as sung by Kris Kristofferson and even though I was very young- totally got where the song was coming from. Here is the first part of the song where you can see what I mean- this is really where I was in life as far as emotions when this image was taken- now today, I am thankfully on the other side, very happy- but when I see this image- it does take me back to that time.

Well, I woke up Sunday morning
With no way to hold my head that didn’t hurt.
And the beer I had for breakfast wasn’t bad,
So I had one more for dessert.
Then I fumbled in my closet through my clothes
And found my cleanest dirty shirt.
Then I washed my face and combed my hair
And stumbled down the stairs to meet the day.

I’d smoked my mind the night before
With cigarettes and songs I’d been picking.
But I lit my first and watched a small kid
Playing with a can that he was kicking.
Then I walked across the street
And caught the Sunday smell of someone frying chicken.
And Lord, it took me back to something that I’d lost
Somewhere, somehow along the way.

On a Sunday morning sidewalk,
I’m wishing, Lord, that I was stoned.
‘Cause there’s something in a Sunday
That makes a body feel alone.
And there’s nothing short a’ dying
That’s half as lonesome as the sound
Of the sleeping city sidewalk
And Sunday morning coming down.

Thank you Kris for those very emotional lyrics!

Image of the Day- Saturday Solitude

Another image from Sedona, this one is from the upper part of Oak Creek- I have done this hike every time I go to Sedona whether it is winter, summer, spring, fall and each time it is different and just as beautiful as the time before. This particular time it was quite challenging for me & Maiko to navigate due to so much ice under the snow. I recall loosing something, maybe my sunglasses? But doesn’t really matter at this point- the memories made last forever and I do love the few images I was able to obtain.

Enjoy & get out in the sunshine today- it is beautiful and much better than being cooped up in the house!

Image of the Day- TGIF!

Yes it is Friday again and as I get older those Friday’s seem to come faster & faster. Another image from Sedona, same area as yesterday but showing more of the beautiful Oak Creek and the rambling through the red rocks in the beauty of winter time.

Have a fabulous Friday!

Image of the Day – Zen

On this beautiful Thursday morning, another gift from God, I am taking myself and you back to my trip to Sedona for New Years weekend 2012-2013. I was there with my best friend in the world, the ying to my yang- my sister- my wing man, my Maiko. This beautiful hike coming from the back of Cathedral Rock along Oak Creek is my very favorite place in Sedona. This morning it calms my soul and hope you love it as well.

Image of the Day- Red

One of the most beautiful places on this planet is Sedona, AZ.  I have been there many times and each time my mind & body get completely refreshed.  The beauty of the rocks, sunset, creeks, sunrise- pink jeeps traveling everywhere- the spirit that just grabs you the minute you get to town.  This image is from my last trip there with my best friend Maiko- we were at Broken Arrow enjoying the snowstorm from the night before mixed with the beauty of the red rocks.  Hope you enjoy for your Tuesday!

Image of the Day- Monday, Monday

This is the last image from Hawaii for a while. Hoping my boss was able to get quite a few nice landscape shots from his trip to Germany with the camera I sent with him. It is Monday again, weekend was too short and I feel like blah…. but getting myself up and around and hope the rest of you have a fabulous day!

Image of the Day- Funky!

This quirky looking plant was found along the path of the Botanical Garden in Hilo- and was so funky looking I just had to take a shot of it.  Today we are heading out for a fun shoot in the park with the theme of Cosplay and then tonight settling in for another nice evening with the Husband.  Was a crazy stressful week and some much deserved downtime is being taken.  Enjoy your Saturday!

Image of the Day – Happy Birthday to Me!

Well here I am, another year older- at my computer to get this post up before heading out to the gym. My poor body feels like crap today because I was up way too late last night processing and putting out a magazine…but I am up and yes I am going to the gym.

This past year of my life has been an amazing one filled with many new friends and quite a change in my photography career- and even though I didn’t spend the time I should have on getting healthy- guess that is what the 56th year of my life will be focused on.

Have a fabulous day everyone- and thank you God for another year of living, loving & laughing!

Image of the Day- Peace

Nothing more peaceful to me than watching the sun set.  And for some reason the sunsets in Hawaii are always more beautiful than anywhere else.  Maybe due to the tropical breeze coming across the beach, island music playing and just the laughter and carefree sounds you hear around you.  This was our last sunset on the Big Island and was spent with two of my best friends.  Hope you enjoy!

Image of the Day- TGIF!

It has been a very long week and today, could not be happier that it is Friday! Sharing another one from Hawaii- this one of some of the interesting ferns that grow all over the trees due to the tropical weather. I have tried to grow them just about my entire adult life and I never get this type of result. Maybe move to Hawaii? Enjoy your Friday, mine will be filled with play dates with my little grand-daughter Presley, her first birthday party and then up to LA to shoot one of my favorite models.
