Born to Die

2016 for me will bring many more pieces of art which are done using Infrared Photography- The series will be called “Life in Infrared” and will focus primarily on women. This concept all started due to my failure to charge all of the batteries for my D750 prior to a photo session with Eva Mae Garnet back in December. Since we had only been shooting for a very short time when all batteries failed on me, I pulled out the only back up camera I had- my D90 converted color infrared camera. Boy were we surprised at the pure beauty of the raw images straight from the camera-
This particular shot is one of my favorites of Eva Mae and is getting printed for the wall in my office- to remind me not only to always be prepared, but also that you just never know where the real art will come from- keep your eyes and mind completely open.
I call this one- “Born to Die”- smile emoticon Love you Eva Mae!

Image of the Day- Corpse Bride!

When I go to these themed shoots- my favorites are always the ones where the models have designed their own costumes. Yesterday I got to see the final product of the Pyscho Bettie Classic’s “Corpse Bride” costume. I gave her my wedding dress from 1999 and she transformed it to a very beautiful and unique work of art. With the crazy talented MUA Steffeny Bonilla and the modeling skills of Alaina Rose Lee- this image came to life.

Art & Soul Photography Project just gets better & better on the themes, locations and the talent of putting the right people together to be a success!

Thank you Patricia Brakeman for the great concept and Belle La Valentine for the beautiful location!

Image of the Day- Glow!

Just having a bit of fun with “Topaz Glow” software. This was just a macro shot of a flower in Hawaii and after putting through the “glow” software it transformed it to look more like an abstract painting. Kind of cool.

Enjoy your Wednesday!

Image of the Day – TGIF

All week we have been getting things ready for the Gatos Car Show, so we have been pretty non-existent on Facebook and everywhere- hope all had a good week!

For today- a peek at some work I did with Alaina Rose Lee on late Sunday- I used a new software program I am trying out- quite a bit a antique finish- blurring, etc- but I like it.

Image of the Day – Solitude

One thing I truly love about digital work is the post processing you can do to mess with the image, changing it to resemble an image from long ago- this image was processed through Topaz Adjust for the HDR effect and then moved into Analog FX to bring more of a Vintage look to the color, etc. This Bride worked on designing the costumes for many months before this shoot actually took place. This dedication as well as the fact that both models always research and “live” the characters they portray show the talent they both have. Working with both for the past year has been an extreme pleasure of mine and I feel truly blessed.
