Image of the Day- Sunday Funday!

It is Sunday- a day of rest- but there is really nothing saying that rest can’t be fun! For me & the hubby, we are off to the desert to shoot a beautiful family and do some promo shots for his website. Yesterday was filled with a fun shoot with Valentina On the Rocks Burlesque- and this was one of the many beautiful images we got.

Have a blast today!

Image of the Day- Sunday Serenity

This image was taken back in 2011 in the area behind the mission known as Mission Basilica San Diego de Alcala- There was a lone lily blooming by a rugged looking cross and I was drawn to it. Since this is a Sunday, I thought it would be a cool one to share- processing was done through Photomatix and just a few facts about the Mission for you:

Mission Basilica San Diego de Alcalá was the first Franciscan mission in the Las Californias Province of the Viceroyalty of New Spain. Located in present-day San Diego, California, it was founded on July 16, 1769 by Spanish friar Junípero Serra in an area long inhabited by the Kumeyaay Indians. The mission and the surrounding area were named for the Catholic Saint Didacus, a Spaniard more commonly known as San Diego. The mission was the site of the first Christian burial in Alta California. San Diego is also generally regarded as the site of the region’s first public execution, in 1778. Father Luís Jayme, “California’s First Christian Martyr,” lies entombed beneath the chancel floor. The current church is the fourth to stand on this location
